Who We Are

When managed correctly, technology is an outstanding asset for small business. If managed poorly, it can feel like more of a burden. WHAT WE DO

In our industry, the way we deliver service is known as Managed Services. A Managed Services platform is a partnership between the IT vendor, and their client. The philosophy behind modern-day Managed Services is wrapped around some very simple tried and true best practices:

IMG_3616.jpg
  • Unlimited consulting and configuration, clients are never billed for labor included in their contract.
  • Regular maintenance prolongs the usability and performance of computer systems
  • Security patches and software updates protect the network from many threats and issues.
  • Complete asset management, allowing us to schedule upgrades, and ensure software licensing compliance.
  • Proactive monitoring and early detection can pinpoint issues for resolution before they cause downtime.
  • Thorough documentation and network maps give technicians and business management a precise overview of an organization's unique infrastructure.
  • Reporting and issue tracking can help us optimize business process and improve efficiency.

Predictable costs

With a Managed Services agreement, your IT expenses become a consistent and predictable operating cost, allowing you to pay for performance instead of repairs. The bottom line is this: If your technology isn't performing flawlessly, we're there fixing it, and as we all know - time is money. If you're not getting perfect results, we're not profitable. We prefer delivering perfect results to losing money.

unique solutions

Unfortunately, a common practice of our competitors is the dreaded cookie-cutter solution. Sometimes technology vendors get complacent, and comfortable, and start to fall into a pattern. Often times a technology provider will try to force a square peg into a round hole, because they're comfortable with the square peg. We pride ourselves in delivering the right solution, not the easy one.

proactive management

Computer issues can often start out as random annoyances with little to no impact. However, any additional complications could twist the original nuisance into a business halting nightmare. We utilize advanced reporting and monitoring tools that detect issues and report back whenever a potential problem is discovered. That way, it can be addressed long before it becomes serious.

Services We Provide

It’s not uncommon for businesses to treat their network and computers much like a household appliance; when it breaks, you pay someone to fix it. Some companies hire internal computer technicians just to keep up with problems. Managed IT is the sensible middle ground; your trusted IT provider isn’t on payroll, but they are dedicated to making sure everyone is up and running. There are plenty of benefits to this alone that can greatly benefit your company’s productivity and expenses.

Networking

One of the most overlooked aspects of a small business technology is the physical network. Without a full time network engineer on staff, management is forced to assume that all devices in the network are communicating at peak efficiency. However, when evaluating a new client, we almost always find outdated equipment, gaping security holes, and poor performance. The Knight Technology team includes certified network engineers that can design, deploy, and maintain a flawless network for your small business.

Hardware

Whether you need to upgrade local computers, equip a mobile workforce, or replace an aging server, we have the vendor relationships and cutting edge knowledge to ensure you're new equipment provides you with a maximum return on investment. Outside of planned upgrades, we also have vendor certified technicians, capable of making repairs to your existing equipment. Keep us in the loop,  we'd much prefer to offer guidance than be surprised with inferior products purchased from the local brick and mortar retailer.

software

We partner with clients in a vast array of industries. These relationships have given us exposure to hundreds of unique software applications. There's no software product that we won't support, no matter how specific. Our techs also have extensive knowledge of mainstream software products that are popular with small business; like QuickBooks, ACT!, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Lastly, we've also developed custom software applications for clients when an off-the-shelf product just didn't fit the needs or budget of the client.

BACKUP

The technology industry is crowded with inferior backup vendors, making big money from unsuspecting clients. We constantly seek out the elite vendors, and will switch in a heartbeat if we feel the product is better. Think about the data your business requires to operate. Where is it backed up? How often is it backed up? What data is actually being backed up? Have you ever tried to restore lost data? If you don't know some of these answers, it's because this is the job of a network administrator or IT vendor. Let us safeguard your data the best way possible.

SECURITY

As technology roots itself deeper into our daily lives, having good security becomes that much more important. Threats are emerging faster than ever, and even the best security vendors can't prevent them all. It's a mistake to think you're too small to be attacked, or that you don't have the data that criminals are seeking. The truth is that almost all attacks these days are carried out automatically, there's almost never a person behind the attack. These attacks target anyone and anything they can. The scariest new threats are called "ransomware." See more here.

cloud

Although "The Cloud" is truly just a buzz word in the purest sense, the philosophy behind it is very real. The idea behind "Cloud Computing" is simple. Rather than house all of your data, applications, and services in house, you can outsource them to specific vendors, and access them from anywhere, through the internet. A good example of this would be Microsoft Office 365. Office 365 lets you store your documents and e-mail on Microsoft servers, and access them from workstations, tablets, phones, and more. Ask us how you can utilize the cloud!

THE PROCESS OF BECOMING A KNIGHT TECHNOLOGY CLIENT

phase 1: Evaluation

During this phase our engineers will sit down with you and/or your management team to map out the existing technology infrastructure and identify the concerns and issues you currently have. We will also discuss the future technology goals of you and your business.

PHASE 2: Strategy

After your thorough evaluation, our engineers review the physical  infrastructure to identify faults and bottlenecks. We will design a blueprint to improve the network, and develop a strategy to help you meet the technology goals laid out during the evaluation.

PHASE 3: IMPLEMENT

Once we have evaluated your network and developed a plan to optimize your infrastructure, we propose and implement a solution that fits your budget and timeline. We will work with you to perform the initial onboarding during off-peak business hours, to reduce costly downtime.

PHASE 4: SUPPORT

When the dust settles, and the onboarding process has been completed successfully, we’ll then move into support mode. At this point your network will be operating flawlessly, and we can begin maintaining systems and software, analyzing reporting, and assisting your end users.
